Happy New Year! Too late for that already? Technically we haven’t reached the one week mark so I think I’m still good.
Don’t you just love the new year and all it brings? All the new year resolutions and changes? People are working on getting healthy and getting happy. I love it! Keep up the work my good people, make it last for more than a hot minute.
This year like so many I have decided to steer clear of the New Year’s Resolution and focus on a Word for the year. I love this new phenomenon and what it stands for. It’s great! Instead of focusing on changing a behavior you focus on one word and use it to help focus your entire year. The guy who actually came up with this brilliant idea actually describes this process as and I quote…
A vision for my future? Man, this is legit and GENIUS! I read this and told myself that we were jumping on that bandwagon really quick.
This was all genius until I sat down and really contemplated what I wanted my word to be for this year. For some reason, nothing felt quite…right.
Until I came up with these options and oh do they feel right. They are spot on and complete perfection if I do say so myself. Now I just have to narrow down which one I’m going to go with
So here it is, What Mom’s Really Want Their Word of the Year to Be this New Year!
Alone
Making this word your Word of the Year allows you to focus on just that, being alone. You could start by allowing yourself to poop alone. Just run to the bathroom as quickly as you can dodging all children.
Suggestion: the best time to rush off is when they all “seem” occupied.
Run in and slam the door behind you quickly, as is as fast as you can. The children have caught on now and know your trying to potty, there is no time to waste. Their radars have gone off and they are right at your heels.
Now, lock the door and put a towel in the bottom of the door crack, this is vital to this process and keeps all tiny fingers from slipping underneath.
And there you go, Alone. Good luck, this may actually take you a full year life time to master.
Silence
Here is another great option to contemplate focusing on. Silence. What even is this? Webster describes it as…
Silence: 1. complete absence of sound 2. cause to become silent; prohibit or prevent from speaking
To prohibit or prevent from speaking, bahaha! Can you just imagine? I think this phenomenon may actually be a gift directly from heaven.
But how do you live this out all year long? Ear plugs I guess?
I mean really, this is just wishful thinking. What mom will actually ever get silence? I am not sure this word actually even exists.
Massage
I love this one, just think of it….”The Year of the Massage.” I think implementing this word lifestyle into your year should be mandatory for all moms. Just think, every week you could be like, “Bye family, I must depart. It is time for my weekly massage.”
And you know, they would have to accept it because they love you and they want to support you in improving your life and creating a better you.
I really believe this is the only way to live.
Nap
Oh the glorious word nap! Who doesn’t love a good nap? But, when is the last time you actually had one?
Want to improve your life? Take a nap. Like all the time. Nap and nap and nap some more. This word could mean you napping or even the little ones napping.
Heck, implementing this word into your life could allow you to combine a few of these life changing words. You could do a combination of nap and alone or nap and silence. You could even go get a massage and take a nap right there on the table. The possibilities with this word are really endless.
This one could definitely be a top contender if you implement it correctly!
Tacos
This word really needs no introduction or explanation. Tacos!
Eat them all day and all night. Introducing tacos into your daily life will for sure promise a year that will “create a vision for your future.” There is no denying that tacos are life giving!
Basically, if your life looks anything like this…..
we feel ya.
Moms, these Word’s of the Year are for you. Focus on one and really embrace it. Take it in and allow yourself to implement it into all aspects of your life or just dream about it because well…we wish!
Let’s be honest, the only word I will be able to actually live up to this year is chaos. Complete chaos!
