The fact that I just typed the words “guide to beauty” into a blog title has me cracking up.
Clearly I am losing it folks.
Although I did nail the whole lazy thing.
So much so, that my beauty routine consists of the 1 minute face.
It’s not so much that I don’t have time for a 5 minute face, becuase I am sure I could squeeze it in.
I am just lazy. Simple as that.
I spend my days wiping up spilled sippy cups and having tea parties with 500 of my closest stuffed friends.
I live for these days, but let’s face it, there isn’t much of a glam factor involved.
My one minute face consists of the following:
PONDS LUMINOUS FINISH BB CREAM – This was given to me by my go to beauty gal Meg O and it is seriously AMAZING. It is so light and yet offers amazing coverage.
RIMMEL STAY MATTE LIQUID MOUSSE FOUNDATIONS – To be clear, I do not use both facial products. This bad boy is for my “hormonal weeks”. You are mamas, you know the ones. Whenever my skin decides to freak on me, I reach for this guy instead on my normal BB cream. It is a little heavier than the Pond’s, but the coverage is always perfect and hides all the problem areas mother nature likes to gift me with every month.
ULTA AMPED LASHES, ULTA VOLUPTUOUS VOLUME, and COVERGIRL LASHBLAST – Mascara is one of those items I would chose if I was ever stranded on a deserted island. I will say that I usually layer 2 of these together. I have been a lash blast user for several years and so I usually always start with that and then depending on the day will add another layer of one of my Ulta faves.
And last but not least,
MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS – Again another staple for the past few years. One of my blog friends sent this to me in a package and it was love at first gloss. I love everything about it. EVERYTHING.
And that is all there is to it ladies.
The 1 minute face.
The end result is what I like to call “classic mom”.
Nothing fancy, but it hides the bags under my eyes for the most part.
Also the dutch braid is another of my beauty staples, it adds another 30 seconds or so to my routine but I somehow manage to make that work.
When I need legit beauty expertise, I rely on Meg to help me out. She was the one that got me hooked on my BB Cream. She also taught me about make up brushes, the importance of filling in your brow {which clearly I never do} and she always has the BEST tips for the latest and greatest products. My fave are her drug store hauls. Because I am lazy, and I don’t really wear make up that often so I don’t buy too many high end products. I love watching her tutorials and she recently got me hooked on these NYX lip products.
Look at me swatching like a real beauty blogger. Who do I think I am? ?
Seriously though, these products are amazing. Meg knows what she is talking about. They aren’t a part of my 1 minute face, but for church, date nights or the even more rare GNO, these will be perfection.
So be honest mamas, how long do you spend on your makeup each day? What are some of your favorite beauty products? I am pretty much a newbie, but I will say it can be fun to play and amp up your look. What mama doesn’t need a little pretty pick me up from time to time for a self confidence boost?!

AHHHH stop it! You just made my day!! Thank you so much for all the love. I really appreciate it. You look great, and honestly, there’s no point in doing more than a 1 minute face when you’re having said tea parties! I know I have certainly toned it down this summer. It’s more of a 5 minute routine than a 15 minute. LOL. I just like makeup, that’s my problem. Brows are so easy – I can show you some good drugstore products that can help you with that. I feel like it really makes a difference and I will always do it no matter what. Glad you are loving the BB Cream. I also looooove that Rimmel foundation!

I use the same BB Cream! It’s awesome. I definitely want to try that foundation too. I love mascara but eyeliner is definitely my “desert island’ item!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This magical base gets me through an entire 18 hours of the blood, sweat and tears of motherhood, PLUS a night working as a nurse. I believe the word potion in the title, because mere mortals could not have created this elixir of eyeshadow life.
