5 MUST BAKE HOLIDAY COOKIES

5 MUST BAKE HOLIDAY COOKIES

I am not sure what it is about the Holiday season, but something about it turns me into Betty Crocker and all I want to do is BAKE! Sometimes it's for my kids, sometimes for neighbors and friends, sometimes to bring to the local Fire Department or Police Department and then of course there is the famous Cookie Exchange parties that always pop up each season.  Am I the only one that feels so much pressure at those parties? Maybe so, but since I don't consider myself an expert baker any other part of the year, I get so nervous making 2 dozen plus cookies to share with friends. What if I mess up? What if they are gross? What if nobody ... READ MORE >>

DIY heart bokeh for SLR cameras

Hey y'all! Ever wonder how people get those awesome bokeh shapes in their Instagram photos? Today I'm sharing an awesome DIY bokeh craft that's great for the holidays, and one that is perfect for teens and tweens to do. Forget those dinky little photo-editing apps with the fake bokehs, homegrown bokehs are wayyy cooler, and you'll have bragging rights with your friends. Ready? Let's do this!  What you'll need: For the DIY bokeh filter, you'll need: -black construction paper (at least one sheet) -black duct tape -scissors -pencil -SLR camera optional: shaped hole punches; a compass to make circular bokeh ... The Must-Have Toy for Preschoolers This Holiday Season #UnwrapLearning #Codeapillar

This post was sponsored by Megan Media and Mattel. All opinions are my own. Every year, the holidays come around and my kids receive more gifts than they could ever need. We come home with a packed car and immediately our playroom is transformed with new toys! We are so grateful for all that the girls get, but every year, after a few weeks, the toys are forgotten and only touched or played with a few times throughout the year. This year, I am going to try to change that by being more intentional with our Christmas lists. Have you heard of families using the “want, wear, need and read” checklist when buying toys? I love this ... READ MORE >>

North Pole Ninjas: A New Tradition

North Pole Ninjas: A New Tradition

I think my favorite part about the Holiday season are all the traditions we have as a family. Weather they are old or new, there is something so special about doing something with your loved ones year after year. Even more special are the traditions when we as a family focus on others and the spirit of serving and reminding ourselves and our kids that the Holiday season is about love and spreading kindness.  A few weeks ago while working the Book Fair at my daughters school, our librarian (aka one of my close friends) introduced me to the North Pole Ninjas and I was instantly intrigued. We have been mildly into the whole Elf thing ... READ MORE >>

How to Organize Your Christmas Decorations

Hey y'all - Sara here today! Happy Thanksgiving week! It's right about time to be putting up holiday decor and maybe you've started already (guilty) or maybe you've got a date with the attic this Friday. Either way, those boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations are coming out of storage and you've got quite a bit of sifting to do before you can deck those halls. I don't know about you, but every single year I find myself going through boxes and I'm kicking myself for how haphazardly things were stored last year, I can't find things I'm looking for, and I always find at least a handful of things that makes me say, "Why do I even still ... Instagram post 17850899390014309 Disney is challenging us to share our first pictures with characters! I had to join in the fun and it was the best trip down memory lane. Disney has been threaded throughout my entire life. I pulled a few of my most favorite memories over the years. From partying in the streets during the most epic dance party and meeting our most favorite princesses to me being a kid at Disney myself. Oh, I also had to add a picture of Cinderella’s Castle. She really is the most beautiful cast member of them all!
