While you are reading this, my family and I are currently enjoying a little beach vacation. You can take a minute to be jealous, I’ll wait.
I originally started to preface this post with the whole “I am not a beauty blogger, blah…blah…blah.
True, I am no beauty blogger, but, I am a blogger who loves beauty products and so if the mood strikes me and I want to share what I am packing in my makeup bag I figure I might as well share. I know I like reading what’s in my bag posts, and so hopefully you guys do to.
I have really gotten into makeup over the last year and a half and have enjoyed experimenting and trying new products. I knew for this particular trip however, makeup wasn’t really going to be that necessary. When we are at the beach we spend the majority of our time with sand between our toes sitting on the beach so a full face of makeup isn’t really the look I will be going for. There will be some moments though that Will and I will sneak away for some date nights….um hello Tacky Jacks & the Flora- Bama so I will want a simple look to just bring my face to life for when we go out.
First thing I packed was my new favorite summer moisturizer. The Clean And Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Moisturizing Gel. That is a mouth full but seriously it is the bomb dot com. It is so cooling and refreshing on the skin and it smells incredible. It seemed like the perfect beach pick.
It’s the beach. It is the south. It will be HOT and HUMID. And what little makeup I plan to wear I need to stay in place. I have been obsessed with the Smashbox Primer Water and again it seemed like the perfect refreshing pick. Plus it doubles as a setting spray and gives me a nice dewy glowing look which hopefully will pair perfectly with my {fingers crosses} new tan.
Because it is the beach, I didn’t feel like a full face of foundation was going to be necessary. I have been loving this It Cosmetics CC Cream for the summer and hello it has a SPF of 50 so naturally it was going to be a beach makeup essential. Not to mention it has an anti aging serum in it already so I can look flawless, while my skin is protected from the sun AND it is making me looking younger? Please….no brainer.
While I have been into bronzing and highlighting a lot lately….I decided to leave that at home this time and just pack my go to summer blush. This Milani Blush is the perfect shade of coral and adds just the most gorgeous color to your cheeks that will be perfect with my new tan.
Out of all my makeup obsessions…eyeshadow is probably my biggest. Since the beach doesn’t really call for a smokey eye or winged liner, I thought I would add a touch of color and shimmer with one of my favorite Color Pop eyeshadows. It adds a nice glow to my lids and helps open my eyes while still keeping my overall look nice and simple and fresh.
Aw man, this mascara is my jam. Pretty sure if you are into makeup at all you have heard the praises of Roller Lash being sung. And it is well deserved because it is really as good as they say it is. LOVE it. Enough said.
Since getting into makeup I have been having a bold lip obsession….I am looking at you, MAC Ruby Woo. This summer though I haven’t been reaching for the bold lips as often…mainly because I have fallen in love with the Fresh Sugar Lip collection. I bought a sample set of like 6 or 7 of them and I love each and every one. They add the perfect touch of color while hydrating my lips and protecting them. I think Tulip is my favorite followed by Petal and Rose.
And of course, last but not least. My never leave home without it…scent obsession. I will be honest and say that I actually have 3 perfumes packed…this one just happens to be the one inside my makeup bag. The struggle is real my friends. I like to smell good at all times. What are you going to do? I love LOVE Kate Spade perfume. Twirl was one of my favorites for a long long time, but their new Live Colorfully perfume is my absolute favorite. It is the perfect colorful scent for the bright blue waters and white sandy beaches.
And there you have it ladies. My makeup summer essentials for the beach. What are your go to summer makeup essentials? My wish list is always growing and can always be added to. Just sayin’.
