Back to School Teacher Supply Kit

July 31, 2015 By Channing 23 Comments

Let the school year preparation begin! I know we have a few more weeks lovely Mama’s but before you know it the first day of school will be here. We will checking off our list as we send them out the door one last time to make sure our little ones have everything they need.

I’ll be real with you, I am one of the most disorganized Moms on the planet so in order to make sure everyone has everything they need, I have to get started early. This means getting first day teacher gifts completed early as well.

What better way to get your teacher’s year started on the right track than a Back to School Teacher Supply Kit!

Back to School Teacher Survival Kit

We started with a “rubberband” craft organizer with different sized compartments. Once we had our container we started brainstorming on items that would be useful for our teacher.

We added office supplies, personal items and yummy treats. Next, we came up with cleaver little reasons for how each item could brighten our teacher’s day throughout the year.

You can add items such as:

Gum

Hand Sanitizer

Lotion

Life Savers

Post it’s

Notebooks

Gift Cards

Push Pins

Pain Reliever

Tissues

Ruler

Water Bottle

Band Aids

Stickers

……and the list goes on!

We finished off our box by organizing our items  and creating a cute printable to top off the box.

Super easy!

This is a fun project for kids of all ages to help with. Whether your child is starting a Mother’s Day Out program or is going into 4th grade they will enjoy picking out treats and trinkets for their teacher this coming year.

Don’t forget to use these 2 free printables when creating your Back to School Teacher Survival Kit!

Hi there! Your idea is very cute, and the items are very useful to a teacher. However, as a veteran teacher, I would find the printable condescending. I know it is good natured and meant in a kind way, but the reminders to relax, take a time out, and take a break and be flexible are trite. I think a pleasant personal note attached to the box would be much more authentic and appreciated addition to such a great gift!

I think it was perfect but she should have put cookies(to help keep you sweet) instead of Advil.

Advil is a VERY necessary addition to the Survival Kit. Some of the contents are cute but this is useful. As a veteran of several decades as a classroom teacher I know that teachers are just going to have difficult days so please keep the Advil as a part of the Kit.

I agree. My teacher in the 3rd grade (10 years ago) said to a student he made so stressed out she ran out of advil so i grabbed 35 dollars of my allowance and went to rite aid. I grabbed advil, gum, some candy, starburts and her favorite. Tootsie rolls. I said here take a care package from the teachers pet and we both couldn’t help but laugh our buts off.

I mean they kind of have free will, to choose to have a printable or hand-made card, as a veteran, I understand your point, but as a veteran, I think you should know the people have free will 😀

I love every item in the survival kit. Question: What program did you use to create the sheet?

This is an awesome gift! Very fun to make and very thoughtful! Fun in nature and also useful! I used the printable for the outside but did not use the one for the inside because I didn’t use all of the items listed, but instead replaced them with some other fun things. I’m glad I came across your idea. Thank you so much!

I love this idea. My grandson is is a SPED class with 3 of the best teachers ever. Christmas was spread thin so no gift to the teachers so I told him we will fix them a welcome to the New Year gift. This is it. Except I a may get a 3 tiered box so they will have plenty for all of the teachers. And these 3 teachers are such good natured people they will love the sign. I may add a few things to it also. Thank you for this idea!
